Enrollment Information

2011-2012 Board of Education

The Following items are being sent to families to assist in planning for the school year 2011-2012:

  • USD 417 “At-a-Glance” calendar – An up-to-date monthly calendar of activities can be printed from the school website at http://www.usd417.net.
  • Free/reduce meal applications – Completed forms can be returned to the District Office in the enclosed envelope at any time or to the school during enrollment. Only one form needs to be completed for each household. Unopened envelopes are routed to the food service director, and she will provide information to each school where a student in the household is enrolled.
  • Enrollment forms – Enrollment forms are included in the packet. Please update or complete the forms prior to enrollment and bring them with you to enrollment. This will expedite your enrollment process.
  • School Supply List – Supply lists are available on the school web site.
  • After School Program Information & Application – Forms will be available at enrollment.

  • Prairie Heights Elementary School & Prairie Heights Middle School
    • Wednesday, August 10, 2011      3:00 – 7:00 PM
    • Thursday, August 11, 2011         3:00 – 7:00 PM
  • Council Grove High School
    • Monday, August 1, 2011         Seniors 3:00 – 7:00 PM
    • Tuesday, August 2, 2011         Juniors 3:00 – 7:00 PM
    • Wednesday, August 3, 2011      Sophomores 3:00 – 7:00 PM
    • Thursday, August 4, 2011         Freshman 3:00 – 7:00 PM

Enrollment costs: No increase in Enrollment for 2011 – 2012

  • Reduce or waived cost, for consumable supplies, may be available for students qualifying for reduced/free meals.
  • Elementary Schools/Middle Schools 
    $50 for grades K-8 ($25 for textbook/materials rental and $25 for consumable materials)
  • High School
    $50 for grades 9-12 ($25 for textbook rental, $25 for activity participation, and additional cost for extra materials for individual classes) 
    $200 for drivers education for USD 417 enrollment students. Fee is to be paid May 1 to participate in summer classes and summer driving experience. $300 for students not enrolled in USD 417.

    Meal prices: Students meal prices for 2011-12.

    Grades preschool-5 (lunch-$2.00, reduced lunch-$.40)
    Grades 5-8 (lunch-$2.10, reduced lunch-$.40)
    Grades 9-12 (lunch-$2.20, reduced lunch-$.40)
    Adult (lunch-$3.15)
  •    Breakfast
    All Students (breakfast-$1.30, reduced breakfast-$.30 
    Adult (breakfast-$1.95)
