USD 417 Enrollment Information
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
2019-2020
New Students - Must enroll in person. All new students will need to attend onsite enrollment on either July 30th or July 31st from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Council Grove Jr/Sr High School commons.
Any students who move into USD 417 after July 31st will need to visit the office of the school the student will be attending to complete the enrollment process.
Returning Students only - Online enrollment will open up on July 8th and will end on July 26th. If you need assistance with the online enrollment tool between July 8th and July 26th, please contact the district office at 620-767-5192. Any returning students who did not complete the enrollment process online will need to attend the onsite enrollment on July 30th or July 31st. In order to enroll as a returning student you will need a "snap code". These will be delivered via a mailing as well as email.
Free and Reduced Lunch - The application will be done online this year and will go live on July 8th. Click Here to fill out the online application.
Our goal is to make the enrollment process as convenient as possible while trying to collect all the information necessary to ensure your student has a successful start to the school year. Reduced or waived fees may be available for students qualifying for reduced or free meals.
Please use the following fee information:
Preschool - $0
Technology Fee Pre-k-12 - $20
Grades K-8 - $55 (consumable fee and textbook fee)
Grades 9-12 - $55 (consumable fee and athletic fee)
Drivers education - $255 (out of district $325) Due by May 1st
(Additional fees may be charged for workbooks, periodicals, gym uniforms, etc.)
MEALS -Lunch and breakfast are served at each attendance center beginning the first day of school. Applications for free/reduced lunches are available at each school. Applications will also be mailed to families during the last week in July.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Students under 16 years of age must be in school under Kansas law.
No pupil will be admitted to kindergarten who does not attain the age of 5 by September 1. Birth certificates must be presented on enrollment. No pupil will be admitted to the first grade who does not attain the age of 6 by September 1, unless attended kindergarten last year. Any person entering Kansas schools for the first time must present a Kansas certification of immunization against diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, poliomyelitis, mumps, rubella (German measles), and measles (rubeola).
