Weekly Report 01/15/2010

This week:  Letter L,  CIRCLE assessments, share L items on Friday.

Next week:  NO SCHOOL on Monday, 1/18.  Letter M.

Dear Parents,
This week we have been learning about patterns.  We learned a song “Simon Says”  and “Head, Shoulders. Knees and Toes:.  These were action songs that got us up and moving with music.  We have been practicing with mostly AB patterns and a few ABC patterns this week.  (AB-red, yellow, red, yellow and ABC-red, yellow, blue, red, yellow, blue)

We tasted black licorice for Tasting Tuesday.  I was surprised how many children liked it.  I introduced the letter L and we learned the magic sound L makes.  We learned the sign language sign for L and leaf.  We also learned the animated alphabet gesture for the sound L makes.  (lying down) Ask your child if he or she can show you any of these.

Thank you for bringing items to share that start with the letter K.  We had keys. Hershey kisses, a kangaroo, a kite, a kitten, ketchup, and King.   

Thank you for all the help and nice treats we had for our Christmas party.  I hope everyone had a nice break.

We celebrated Danielle’s birthday on Friday.  Happy 4th Birthday Danielle!   

Please decorate the snowman with your child and send it back to school.   I only have 6 returned so far.
