Weekly Report 01/29/2010

This week:  Letter N, Focus on four, share N items on Friday.

Next week:  Letter O, Focus on four

Dear Parents,

This week we focused on the number four.  We learned a song “One, Two, Three, Four.”  We counted words in the sentences in the song, we made four in different ways and we also worked on recognizing the numerals 1-4.

We tasted Nutty Bars for Tasting Tuesday.  They were a big hit, everyone liked them.  I introduced the letter N and we learned the magic sound N makes.  We learned the sign language sign for N and nest.  We also learned the animated alphabet gesture for the sound N makes.  (Nellie the newt nibbling nuts) Ask your child if he or she can show you any of these.

Thank you for bringing items to share that start with the letter M.  We had several monkeys including Curious George,.  Mandy Jo brought a picture of her mare, Boo. We also had money, mittens, a mammoth, a monster truck, mini marshmallows, a moose, a map, and a cow that produces milk and says moo.  Danielle brought M&M’s and shared them with the class.

I will continue to send home a special note and a sticker that celebrates your child’s good behavior for no time outs daily.  Please reinforce this at home with your student as well.

We did not go to library this week we just couldn’t seem to fit it in.  We will try to go next week.

I am sending home the February snack and show-n-tell calendar, the February parent/child activity (a heart), Valentine party helper list, class list and the M and N sound cards.

Hope you have a great weekend,

Ms.  Shari
