Weekly Report 12/18/09

This week:  Letter K, Holiday program December 17th at 6:00 p.m.  Progress reports.  Share K items on Friday.

Next week:  Monday, Christmas party and gift exchange.  NO SCHOOL the rest of the week.  Have a wonderful holiday season and I will see you next year!  Classes resume January 5th, 2010.

Dear Parents,
This week we have been focusing on 3.  We learned a song “One, Two, Three.”  This is a fun song with actions!  We have also been working on our self portraits, journal writings and progress reports.

We tasted canned kiwi for Tasting Tuesday.  I was surprised how many children liked the kiwi.  I introduced the letter K and we learned the magic sound K makes.  We learned the sign language sign for K and kite.  We also learned the animated alphabet gesture for the sound K makes.  (blowing kisses) Ask your child if he or she can show you any of these.

Thank you for bringing items to share that start with the letter J.  We had jacks,  Jif peanut butter, jelly, a jump rope, juice,  jingle bells, we jumped and two of our friends start with J, Jesse and Joshua.

Thank you for attending the program on Thursday, the children did an awesome job!  I know this time of year is hectic and it is hard to fit everything in.  I appreciate the time and effort you made for your child so he/she could attend.  Mrs. Bolieu has out done herself once again and put on a spectacular program.

We celebrated Jesse’s birthday on Monday.  Happy Birthday Jesse!  We also celebrated two half birthdays this week.  Noah’s birthday is on June 24th and Lilly’s birthday is on June 25th.  I like to celebrate their ½ birthday’s since we are not in school during June. Happy ½ birthday Noah and Lilly.

I am sending home the parent/child activity for January and the January calendar today.  Please decorate the snowman with your child and send it back to school when we return from break.
I am also sending home our Santa letters we wrote, an envelope and directions on how to submit your letter if you want Santa to read it on Channel 2.   Council Grove Telephone gave us the stationary and envelopes.

There will be no newsletter next week.  Happy holidays and thank you for all of your help at home, I appreciate you!

See you next year,

Ms.  Shari
