*NO SCHOOL on Monday, Labor Day

Dear Parents,

This week we introduced the kitchen.  We talked about all the things we do in the kitchen.  We clapped out syllables for the words in the kitchen.  I sounded some words out and the students had to blend the sounds together to figure out what I word I was saying.   I started giving the CIRCLE assessments that I give at the beginning of the year, middle of the year and at the end of the year.  I will share the results with you at parent/teacher conferences.  I introduced the letter A this week and we tasted Apples.  We learned the sign language sign for the letter A, the sign language sign for apple and the animated alphabet gesture for A.  Please ask your child if he/she can show you any of these.  Next Friday I would like your child to bring something to share that starts with the letter A.  This can be anything, here are a few examples; a toy airplane, a can of apricots, a picture of their favorite Aunt, anything you can find around your home that starts with the letter A.

I am still missing some All About Me books and preschool licenses.  Please finish them and send them to school.  I am sending home a copy of an apple today that I would like you and your child to decorate and return to school.  We will use this for a bulletin board in the hallway.  This will be our September parent/child activity.

We have two birthdays coming up next week, Michael will turn 4 on the 5th and Joshua will turn 3 on the 11th.  Happy Birthday Michael and Joshua!  Michael will be gone on his birthday so we will celebrate his birthday in October we he returns.

Have a great 3 day weekend and I will see you on Monday.

Ms. Shari
