Salary Movement
Salary movement for USD 417 licensed staff is dictated by the USD 417 Negotiated Agreement. Please refer to the Negotiated Agreement for questions regarding this process. PDC is not in charge of this process. Application for salary movement is made through the clerk of the board. Below are FAQ:
How is my Salary Movement Transcript different from my Licensure Transcript?
According to the Negotiated Agreement, you can move on the USD 417 Salary Schedule using certain PDC points. A separate transcript is kept at the central office of these particular points – called “salary movement points.” The state does not govern or see this transcript – it is kept for our local Board of Education. Unlike licensure, PDC does not oversee this process; the transcript is simply kept by PDC for the Board’s use.
What points are on the Salary Movement Transcript?
According to the Negotiated Agreement, only Knowledge Level points that are earned outside of your contract – for example, trainings that are held in the summer or after 4:00 p.m. Your Licensure Transcript has ALL your points: during contract, outside of contract, college credit, Knowledge Level, Application Level, Impact Level. The outside-of-contract points, that are Knowledge Level, are the only ones that are also listed on your Salary Movement Transcript. These are commonly called “salary movement points.”
Are college credits posted on the Salary Movement Transcript?
No. Only “salary movement points” are posted. College credits are not.
How can I use my college credits to move on the salary schedule if they aren’t on my Salary Movement Transcript?
You apply for salary movement through the clerk of the board according to the Negotiated Agreement. After you fill out the application, either turn in your college transcript(s) or make sure it/they are in your permanent file. The clerk will then run your Salary Movement Transcript at the district office to get your point total. You do not need to have anyone at the central office run you a salary movement transcript at this time - the board clerk has access to this transcript. These two types of professional development documents are “added together” according to the Negotiated Agreement for a final total.
College Transcript Hours + Salary Movement Points = Total for Salary Movement
