Message from Superintendent Mr. Dody
In my opinion, Council Grove High School has one of the premier football stadiums in both the Flint Hills League and of most 3A high schools. I am sure we all share a sense of pride in the nostalgia and atmosphere at the Council Grove High School football games. I am excited that this year, to add to the atmosphere, I will be shooting off salutes when the team enters the field and when they score a touchdown or field goal. This will occur at all home games except for the Sept. 14th game against Osage City as the Voices of the Wind People Pageant will be taking place on Main Street and we do not want to disrupt the pageant with the salutes. A salute is an aerial firework shell that is designed to produce an explosive sound. I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you are not at the game and you hear a boom or two in town, it is nothing to be alarmed about, it is just our Braves marching down the field and scoring a touchdown! I hope you are able to join us at the first home football game on September 7th against Central Heights High School. Go Braves!
