USD 417 Professional Development Plan
The Kansas State Board of Education officially approved the USD 417 Five Year Inservice Plan effective 8-1-08 through 7-30-13 at their April, 2009 meeting. With this approval, USD 417 may design and implement a professional development plan which provides for licensure renewal of our licensed district employees and licensed district community members.
Anyone employed by the district or who works or lives within the district may file an Individual Professional Development Plan. Current licensed district staff enroll in the USD 417 Professional Development Plan each fall by signing up during our first back-to-school staff development days. Community members should contact PDC Chair, Kelly Gentry, at the district office to sign up.
The 2010-2011 Professional Development Activity Plan listed below outlines the approved activities which will be sponsored by our district and by each building. Licensure points will be awarded based on attendance at these activities. For instructions on how to receive points for book studies or for supervising a student teacher, please see FAQ.
Schedules of specific topics for each staff development day are available upon request. There is space for staff members to add individual activities approved with an Individual Development Plan (IDP) so all professional activities can be summarized for each school year on one form.
