Recycling Project
Bring your old printer cartridges and old cell phones to the Council Grove High School Library.
Funding Factory encourages schools across the country to collect empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges as well as old cell phones from their community. These include cartridges consumed in both homes and businesses. Collected cartridges earn points, which are then exchanged for new computer technology. In this way, Funding Factory connects community, education and the environment! If you would like more information about Funding Factory, click on the graphic above.
If you can, use the original packaging. (We will take your cartridges without the original packaging, however.)
If you want to use your place of business as a drop off point for cartridge collection, if you want to adopt USD 417, or if you have any questions, e-mail Martha House.
Each year, American households and businesses consume and throw away over 275 million laser and inkjet cartridges. These cartridges contribute 200 million pounds of solid waste to overburdened landfills. What is even more surprising about these cartridges is their aggregate value of over $550 million! Throwing away empty cartridges is like throwing away money.
