STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Social Work Services

by Sue Mulryan

Welcome to a new school year.  It is exciting to get to see all the students again.  Their creativity and enthusiasm makes coming to work a sheer pleasure.  As a district social worker, I have the opportunity to interact with all the elementary and middle school students in the district.

I provide classroom guidance on a weekly basis to most classes.  The guidance is based on the "Six Pillars of Character", Trustworthy/honesty; Fairness; Citizenship; Caring/kindness; Respect; and Responsibility.  I also cover bullying, safety, and change/transition.  There is a "word" of the month that guidance focuses on to help the students understand how it makes them a better student, classmate, friend, and person.  We are starting off the year on bullying, what it is and what to do.  Please go to my page in each building and it will provide information on what the word is, the key parts, and what standards in education are being addressed.

In addition to guidance, I am available to help the teachers if there is a special need.  I provide guidance and support to all the staff.  I'm available to all the students as well, whether to just listen to them or help them with a problem or concern.  Sometimes if there are enough students, I may have a group.

If you have a concern or question regarding your student please contact me.  If I don't have the answer, I will direct you to who does.

My schedule this year is:
