Board of Education Goals
1. Academic/School Improvement
* Continue with improvements for a positive learning atmosphere
* Increase challenges of academics
* Support school improvement efforts of District Academic Council (DAC)
2. Goal: Staffs
* Maintain and increase professional development standards.
* Make the best utilization of staff members
* Continue to improve salary schedules
3. Communities/Parent Involvement (with communication)
* Continue to stress parental involvement
* Provide opportunities for input by advisory councils and sit councils
* Provide opportunities for feedback from patrons to the BOE
* Support student mentoring programs in buildings
* Strive to improve cohesiveness of communities as a district
4. Technology
* Continue ongoing support of technology with infrastructure, equipment, and software
* Attain maximum utilization of technology by providing staff instruction and training
5. Funding/Budget
* Utilize the non-pro-testable Local Option Budget (LOB) as appropriate to support the school budget
* Encourage patrons and staff to be advocates for funding of public education
* Research grant opportunities
* Encourage energy conservation
6. Address Concerns of Substance Abuse
* Provide staff development for recognition of characteristics of drug abuse
* Continue to review and revise or update the substance abuse policy, as appropriate
