2014-2015 State Assessments
Greetings:
Nothing is as important to us as ensuring that your child experiences success while receiving a quality education in our district. In doing so, one of many measures we use to determine individual student success includes the annual Kansas Assessments. We also use this data to inform how we design and deliver our classroom instruction and how we provide educational programming for all students.
This important time of year is quickly approaching, as the window to begin this year’s Kansas Assessments opens March 9, 2015. Included with this letter, we have created some resources for your review, which we hope will explain the types, purpose, importance, and impact of this year’s Kansas Assessments for your student and for our school district:
- Ready to Test: What Our Schools Are Doing to Prepare Students for the 2014-2015 State Assessments
- Kansas Assessments 101: A Guide to Kansas Assessments and Frequently Asked Questions for the 2014-2015 School Year
We know that you want to be informed and involved in your child’s education as much as possible. As such, we hope that you will find this information helpful and informative.
We greatly appreciate your role and assistance in your child’s learning and in how he or she prepares at home for these assessments. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school or the USD 417 office if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Doug Conwell
Superintendent, USD 417
