Mike Estes Accepts the Council Grove Elementary/Middle School Administrator Position
I am currently the principal at Lusk Elementary/Middle School in Lusk, Wyoming. My official college training was in secondary math and over the last eight years I have had the opportunity to work closely with Wyoming Child and Family Development at the Lusk Early Childhood Center and also with the students in my buildings from kindergarten to eighth grade.
I still recall the minute, on January 2, 1985 sitting in an un-crowded theater, when I decided to become a teacher. My philosophy began developing then and though I have grown personally and professionally, I still believe that teachers make a difference in the lives of people. I am excited to be leading and living in a community where learning and respect is valued.
During my educational career I have been a teacher, coach, technology director and principal. While each one has its highlights, leading professional educators has been the most rewarding.
I consider myself to be progressive with the use of technology. I believe the use of technology aides in motivating students, delivery of instruction and keeping current on educational best practices.
I am looking forward to sharing more of my experiences with you.
