Envision 417 Council
The “Envision 417” council had its first meeting Monday night. Two groups have come together to form this council. One committee was formed by the USD 417 school board to work on an efficiency study of the school district for effective use of personnel and finance and to generate revenue. The other committee was developed from the Envisioning Council for Economic Prosperity for school enhancement. These two committees have joined into an advisory council to aid USD 417 in school enhancement to be known as Envision 417.
The objectives created from the first Envision 417 meeting are threefold. The first objective is to build trust, reliance and teamwork within the committee. This council has identified USD 417 as a fractured school community saturated with segments not working cooperatively together and holding angry bias created over the years. Once this goal is obtained the committee hopes that trust, teamwork and cooperation will spread throughout our school community.
Upon attaining the first objective, the Envision 417 council will then study with school administrators, the efficiency of our schools, ascertaining ways to save money, generate revenue and efficiently place personnel. Their intent is to study all facets of fiscal spending and use of personnel and create options for our school board to consider.
Upon completion of this second objective the Envision 417 council will study, with school personnel, the “best practice” for utilizing fiscal monies for school enhancement. Each goal is dependent upon successful completion of prior set goals.

Monthly meetings will be held on the 4th Monday of each Month from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. Initial meetings will be held at Dr. Michael Ford’s residence and people are welcome to attend and observe. Due to scheduling conflicts, the next Envision 417 meeting is on Monday, October 4 at 8:00 pm.
