Prairie Heights Elementary and Middle Schools March Guidance
FAIRNESS

The month of March will focus on Fairness. Students will be asked questions to stimulate a higher order of thinking such as "What does treating people fairly mean? Does fairness mean everyone gets the same amount, like an equal piece of a chocolate bar?". Emphasis will be for students to act fairly, play by the rules, and recognize that fairness does not always mean everything is equal or the same. The standards that will be addressed this month are:
Kindergarten and 1st Grade:
1.1 Identify a variety of feelings (KS 1.1.1.3)
1.1 Describe behaviors associated with various feelings. (KS 1.1.1.4)
4.1 Describe attitudes needed to achieve in school (KS 2.1.1.2)
2nd and 3rd Grade:
4.1 Describe attitudes needed to achieve in school (KS 2.1.1.2)
4.3 Describe the characteristics of a good worker (KS 3.3.1.2)
4.4 Demonstrate being a positive team member (KS 3.1.2.4)
4th and 5th Grade:
4.1 Recognize the importance of effort and persistence to learning (KS 2.1.2.3)
4.4 Demonstrate being a positive team member (KS 3.1.2.4)
