Weekly Report 11/05/09

This week:  Letter F, NO SCHOOL on Friday (early dismissal) Share F items on Thursday.

Next week: Letter G

Dear Parents,
We celebrated two birthdays this week.  Athena turned 4 on the 3rd and Logan turned 5 on the 5th!  Happy Birthday Athena and Logan!  Shawn will celebrate his 5th birthday on Monday.

This week we have been learning about 3-D shapes, cones, cylinders and cubes.  We learned a song about this called, “Yum, Yum, Yum.”  Help your child identify 3-D objects around your home.

Please send your turkey feather back decorated.  Our turkey is almost featherless.

We tasted Fig Newtons for Tasting Tuesday.  I introduced the letter F and we learned the magic sound F makes.  We learned the sign language sign for F and fish.  We also learned the animated alphabet gesture for the sound F makes.  Ask your child if he or she can show you any of these.  Some of us are having trouble making the F sound and a little practice at home would help.  We strung Froot Loops on pipe cleaners and wore them on our wrist this week.  We ate a few also!!

We finished our journal pages this week and I will hang them outside the classroom for everyone to see.

I will be gone on Friday the 13th to attend an Autism training at ESU and I will be gone on Monday the 16th for a Family Service Coordinator training in Topeka.  Ms. Cara will be my substitute.

Have a great weekend!
Ms.  Shari
*The Christmas program is set for December 8th.  Mark your calendars.*
