Curriculum: District Academic Council

District Academic Council (DAC)

The District Academic Council (DAC) is a K-12 district-wide group of community members, teachers, administrators, and board representatives that make recommendations to the Board of Education regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment.  They meet monthly at the district office.  Each subject area in the district is studied in detail according to a schedule called the "USD 417 Long Range Plan," which the DAC oversees.

The DAC also studies district student achievement data and contributes to our District Improvement Plan.  If you would like to know more about our data, please contact any building principal or the central office.  Parents who would like more information regarding all subjects tested in Kansas, see the "Just for Parents" booklets.

Click on any of the links below for DAC information or call Kelly Gentry, DAC Chair, at the central office, 767-5192.
