PH Elementary: Classrooms

PHES Field Trip to Rock Springs

by Second Grade

Who Went to Rock Springs

The whole school went and so did some parents.  The classes that went were Kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth.  The parents that came with the second grade were: Nichole's parents, Corbin's mom, Treyser's dad, Justine's parents, and Morgan's mom.

We split into groups.  In Nichole's mom's group she had Nichole, Odalys, and Kelsea.  In Corbin's mom's group she had Corbin, Treyser, and Michael.  In Justine's mom's group she had Justine, Ivan, and Hope.  In Morgan's mom's group she had Morgan, Breann, and Haven.  In Ms. Shade's and Miss Cindy's group they had Ty, Tyler, Blake, Demetrius, and Nathan.

    We all had fun.

Nature Hike

On the nature hike we went on a cliff.  We took a lot of trails.  We had to go up a rock to get there.

We looked down and saw a stream.  When we looked down there were rams down in the stream.

When we were done we were tired.  We went up stairs and there was an old house and a fireplace.  Corbin, his mom, Treyser, and Michael went across a bridge and played in the stream.

This was the best part of the field trip.

Horses

When we went to the barn we got to ride a horse.  There was a horse that had a cut on the leg.

The horse's names were Sweet Pea, Sandy, and Sunshine.  You had to put on a helmet.  You could not yell in the stable.

We rode the horses outside.  The 3rd and 4th got to ride on a trail with the horses.

We looked through the window and horses were sleeping.

Riding the horses was our favorite part.

Scales

First everyone looked at and passed animal furs.

Next we looked at the skulls of dead animals.

Then we looked at and touched snakes.

Last we left the snake classroom, but before we did that we looked at a rattlesnake and a copperhead snake then we left.

Lunch Time

When it was time for lunch everybody ran to the picnic tables.  The people who ate a school lunch had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a bag of chips, an apple, and some animal crackers.  Other people had a sack lunch.  After we were done eating we played tag.  When we were about to leave we had apple juice.

Basketball and the Fishing Pond

We played a game of basketball against Nathan, Michael, and Corbin.  Treyser, Ty, and Demetrius beat Corbin, Michael, and Nathan.

There was a fish pond.  You could feed the fish.  It cost 25 cents.  We saw over ten fish.  There were goldfish and bass.

There was volleyball courts and Ty and Corbin beat Demetrius and Michael.  It was 9 to 5.  Ty and Corbin won.

We liked the fish pond the best.

The Scavenger Hunt

We had a piece of paper to find 23 things.  We found easy things.  We found a beaver stick in the stream.  Then we found the mushroom and we found a flower.  A rock with holes in it was easy to find.  We thought it was cool.  The snail shell was hard to find because they were small.

The Bus

The bus ride to Rock Springs was fun.  We played I Spy and we talked about our grandmas.  The kindergarted and 1st grade and 4th grade rode the first bus there.  Second grade ad third grade rode in the second bus.  Third grade was talking the whole way.

When we got to school, Justine went to her momma's car.
