2008 Fall Play

C G Players and Company presented the fall play, "Usher: A Totally Teen Comedy" on November 15 & 16, 2008.
The play was a modern creation of characters and plots from the short stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe. The characters were set in a modern day home with a dark secret. Roderick Usher (played by Travis LeMay) is in need of someone he can truly like who he can ask to the Prom. His sister Madeline (played by Jessica Johnson), along with her boy friend, William (played by Troy Britt) plot to get some teenage girls to come to his home so that he could get to meet them and would find someone he thought he could ask.
The play develops some twists when the audience finds out that there is a curse on the home and that if Roderick let's his heart drive his actions and ask someone to Prom, then the curse will be lifted. The curse is that those Usher family members who died young and did not do what they truly wanted to can not pass on until Roderick asks someone to Prom. William also finds out that Madeline is one of those ghosts. He has to make the decision of not letting the curse be broken and keeping Madeline with him always, or letting her go.
Williams finally decides that he has to let Madeline go. He helps her introduce Roderick to several of the girls. Roderick falls for Annabelle Lee and when he asks her to Prom, the curse is lifted.
