Guidance and Career Education
The USD 417 Guidance Subject Area Committee (SAC), with representatives K-12, created our local Guidance and Career Education curriculum during the 2008-09 school year. This curriculum was piloted and finalized during the 09-10 school year.
Our local curriculum is aligned with the Kansas Curricular Standards for School Counseling as well as being aligned from grade level to grade level K-12. The focus of each grade level is stated at the beginning of each document. Responsibility for teaching this curriculum is shared between guidance counselors, Career Education teachers (MS/HS), and classroom teachers.
